Stepped patio with spaced paving

This is an example of a courtyard garden where we have had to deal with two different ground ?levels within the garden and an issue with water drainage.

We’ve created a step to deal with the level change and laid individual slabs set on raised beds of mortar.

These raised?slabs?allow a good depth of soil and 10mm?gravel around them creating planting?voids for sensory planting-Herbs and other fragrant specimens that when walked on give off their?sent.

The raised and spaced slabs also allow for the enclosed courtyard to drain as there was little to no drainage options available in the courtyard.

We used our favourite Old Town slabs (Grey/Green variety) ?here as they offered a perfect look for the period property.
